Welcome to WESCO United Soccer Club.  Your gateway to the beautiful game of soccer in Western Sonoma County.  We are a community-focused soccer club dedicated to creating a positive, inclusive environment for players of all levels.  

 

WESCO United is seeking a part-time Operations Manager for our Select/Competitive program.  This new position is responsible for program planning, program facilitation, operations management, marketing, communications, member relations, and data management for the Select program. This position will partner with the Director of Coaching, WESCO Office administration and coordinate with other stakeholders.  This is a paid position to ensure dedicated commitment by the individual to achieve the results the club requires.  

 

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:  

  • Developing and implementing proactive marketing campaigns to recruit players into the club and to encourage signup to programs, including the activation of physical signage, advertising in school newsletters, local newspapers, pop-up booths, social media, website, public speaking opportunities, etc.. 
  • Be an advocate for WESCO Select at School Board, City and Sonoma County meetings.
  • Develop and publish communications including regular email updates, newsletters, popup events, webinars, and town halls to Select members
  • Be the facilitator and key member on the Select Committee
  • Work with the DOC, Select Committee, Board, and Office to develop an annual plan of events and programs including but not limited to Tryouts, Leagues, Tournaments, Kickstarts, Clinics, Camps, goal keeper training, Friday night finishing, Saturday pickups, etc..
  • Work with the DOC to strategize, design, document and gain approval for future player and coach development programs.
  • Partner with the DOC to design, coordinate, facilitate and execute development programs and opportunities for players and coaches
  • Support the DOC to create formal documentation, videos, and training materials for players and coaches and publish the content on the Website.
  • Work with the DOC to organize and facilitate team manager training.
  • Partner with the WESCO Office administration, registrar and referee assignor to plan, execute, and resolve issues throughout the annual season lifecycle from tryouts, registration, rostering, jersey ordering, and game execution.
  • Stay abreast of Norcal Premier and US Club soccer resources and programs that may benefit the club and coordinate with the DOC to publish these opportunities and materials out to the Select coaching staff and member community.
  • Be on the field to manage operations and data capture for all formal programs including facilitating signups, checkins, tryouts, registrations, etc...
  • Manage select player/member data including signups, tryout attendance, player ratings, master rosters, team invites/declines, teamsnap rosters setup, etc..
  • Help coordinate proper sequence of communication with all stakeholders for mid-season player moves, disciplinary issues, member issues, and handling complaints.
  • Be visible on the field on evenings and weekends and represent WESCO Select and interact informally with members
  • Coordinate, organize and oversee execution of coaching support needs and volunteers for programs.
  • Social media community management
  • Own the Select Puma merchandise coordination in terms of defining the apparel lineup for each season, online ordering process, and distribution of gear
  • Manage field operations including localized soccer equipment management/repairs, reservation process with schools and parks, as well as manage and optimize our internal team field reservation process
  • Act as an escalation point for day to day issues

 

Critical Skills and Requirements

  • Experienced in the competitive soccer world as an accomplished player or coach
  • Competitive soccer coaching experience including player development
  • Great with people and serves as a “face” for the WESCO Soccer Club
  • Demonstrated experience in business operations with general business acumen
  • Experience with executing marketing campaigns, promotions, and activations
  • Excellent listening, communication, and writing skills both formally and informally
  • Passion for data management
  • Is organized and acute attention to detail
  • Proficient working with web/mobile applications, and O365 or Google productivity applications
  • Is a planner and executor with demonstrated agility and flexibility
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as necessary
  • Ability to commit up to 250 hours per year
